DESIGN
The Design Committee oversees projects that create an appealing downtown shopping atmosphere that encourages pedestrian shopping and enhances historic character.
The store-front and facade improvement program provides financial, technical, and design assistance to property and/or business owners to encourage historic preservation and to make the business district an attractive and inviting place to shop, socialize, and do business. Facade grants are awarded to qualifying businesses on a matching basis when projects are completed. Over the past two years the LEDC has awarded $98,959 in facade improvement grants resulting in $194,940 worth of building improvements.
