February has been an exciting month for us! The LEDC has three new board members. The expertise of our new members will contribute to our organization’s ongoing growth and impact in Lansdowne.
Laureen Carlin is the Director of Community Services at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. In this role, she is responsible for community outreach, programming, and volunteer coordination. Laureen has extensive experience in the healthcare field, having held positions at Albert Einstein Medical Center and Germantown Hospital.
Daniel “Dan” Whaland is a Senior Transportation Planner at the Delaware County Planning Department.
He brings insight into issues related to multi-modal transportation and land use planning. A Lansdowne resident, Dan also has experience at the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, SEPTA, and the Chester Economic Development Authority. He has even served as a Market Manager at the Farm-to-City Farmer’s Market at 34th and Walnut Streets in the University City section of Philadelphia.
An illustrator and writer, Elizabeth “Liz” Moorhead is also a Lansdowne resident. She is the Principal of Betsy Ann Paper and Pinkslip Industries, a boutique design and branding agency. Liz is not new to the LEDC. She is a member of the Marketing Committee and the Business Development Committee, and played a key role in our inaugural Arts on the Avenue street festival.
Please join me in welcoming Laureen, Dan and Liz! We look forward to their contributions to the organization and the Borough.
