May was just a hint, June was just a preview…but here comes July. The fuses have been lit, the countdown has begun…please stand by for the annual Food Fireworks! KaBoom!
If you’ve been following along with me, and following the seasonal dots, just take a look at what’s coming at us for the next three or four months. And if you’re like me, you’ve waited for nine long months to renew your summer love affair with tomatoes, peaches, melons and corn on the cob. Also, like me, you’re gonna need a bigger basket. ‘Nuff said.
Each Market week I try to give you a head’s up on what’s new and on the schedule at the LFM. It’s been tricky for the last couple of years as vendors, in the wake of the pandemic, struggle with supplies and staffing. An ongoing challenge. For any last-minute updates and changes, best to check in to our FB page.
So maybe this week it’s time to spend a little love on our faithful weekly campers… The ones who’ve become family. You know who they are. This one’s for them.
Of course, our lead-off hitter, Mike and the gang at Fruitwood Farms, who keep us supplied with all those previously mentioned gifts of the seasons.
John Wilson and his ever-expanding line of Curiously Good Foods, from his famous mushroom soup to chili to chicken salad to tiny chocolate puddings that could start a bidding war.
Taste of Pueblo…Although for the time being they can’t serve those steaming hot tamales that used to steam up your goggles, but still the go-to for all your salsas, guac’s and just-made tortilla chips for those patio parties and happy hours. Olé¡
MyHouse Cookies…I can’t guarantee that Tom and Marie Connell bake the goodies in their actual house but, wherever the magic happens, those scones and fist-sized cookies are my personal breakfasts of champions.
Big Sky Bread…Also a good place to hook up with a breakfast treat…and a loaf of raisin bread, or a pepperoni loaf (I slice mine up and freeze it.)
And for the perfect ending, it follows…A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou! Mitchell & Mitchell Wines is always on hand with the perfect red or white to round out any menu. And maybe get a load of Frank’s fancy new truck.
Here’s lookin’ at you guys! We’d be nothin’…and also very hungry…withoutcha.
In the Artist’s Tent: Dear Diary…this week it’s the other Lady Lancaster, Gillian, with her Jolly Junk Journals. Don’t you have some new college-bound graduate who’ll be needing a place and space to write it all down?
Have you signed up for a Community Day yet? These spaces go quickly. Don’t wait.
And as always, please be sure to read all of The Link for all the LEDC news.
Enjoy the Fireworks!
