Andrea and Gregg DiFabio are celebrating the one year anniversary of the opening of their record store, Vinyl Revival, 35-37 N. Lansdowne Avenue. Vinyl Revival is a destination for people who want a unique entertainment and shopping experience. Not your ordinary record store, Vinyl Revival offers not only new and vintage vinyl records but also sells handmade and up-cycled artful home and fashion accessories, record players, and music memorabilia.
Additionally, Vinyl Revival hosts First Friday events, live music shows and screens independent films in The Vault at Vinyl Revival, an intimate, 35-seat entertainment space, which is available to rent for parties and special occasions.
When looking for locations for the store, the pair wanted someplace with a growing arts community, a growing business and retail district and a real neighborhood feel. Lansdowne was one of the areas they were interested in learning more about but it wasn’t until Andrea toured the Historic Lansdowne Theater that she decided she wanted the store in Lansdowne. They look forward to many more years of business in Lansdowne where they can continue giving customers an alternative to digital music, multiplex movie theaters and national retail chains by focusing more on indie and local artists and musicians.
In celebration of their first year in business, Vinyl Revival is having a concert event with folk singer Betty Soo on August 22, screenings of the documentary “Wages of Spin II,” on August 23, and an anniversary sale, complimentary cake, drinks and light refreshments all weekend.
